What are the Causes of RF Radiation?

The associated health effects related to RF exposures is widely debated in the scientific and medical community – ranging from “no worries” to prudent avoidance. The traditional and current regulatory approach is to acknowledge only the thermal (heating) effect on human tissue and exposure regulations are based on this concept.

However, in the past ten years a significant number of studies have shown other potential non-thermal health effects that go much further than the heating issues. These conditions range from increased and altered cell proliferation influences on hormones, heart, circulatory, and nervous system.

These non-thermal effects are currently not recognized by the regulatory authorities in the United States. How Do We Test for RF Radiation?

The Narda Selective Radiation Meter SRM 3006 is our state-of-the-art choice to detect RF Radiation in Southern California. This advanced technology accurately detects fields well below domestic and international regulatory standards and precautionary action levels. The SRM 3006 has the ability to measure fields more accurately than broadband meter and identifies exactly what sources or emitters are generating the most power. There are three different modes we activate to detect RF Radiation:

• The Spectrum Analysis mode within the SRM 3006 allows the identification of the different RF emitter.
• The Level Recording mode allows us to watch and monitor one specific signal of frequency band over a long period of time.
• The Safety Evaluation allow us to measure the multiple sources/emitter individually in one table and sums up the total RF level present at a location.
